About the author: Bruce Holsinger is the author of THE GIFTED SCHOOL, which won the Colorado Book Award. His essays have appeared in The New York Times, the New York Review of Books, Vanity Fair, and many other publications. His nonfiction books have won numerous awards from the Modern Language Association, the Medieval Academy of America, and other organizations. He teaches at the University of Virginia and is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. THE DISPLACEMENTS is his fourth novel.
